Well suited to pots or frost free, humus rich, garden soils in a filtered light position. Ideally protect from drying/cold winds. They make terrific and unusual house plants. Water well to establish and keep moist in active growth, they become dormant in winter and won’t require moisture at that time. They have underground rhizomes that store water. In pots more watering may be required as potting mix is perfectly drained. Will emerge early spring with the warmth, you can leave in the pot, watering late winter to spring. Divide as required in summer. If you are potting, use a decent size pot, their rhizomes multiply laterally so 20cm or more is ideal to begin.
