Lavender La Diva 'Big Night'

The first Spanish x English Lavender cross taking the best from both worlds with first class branching of glorious, silver foliage and an abundance of blooms. It is more resistant to weather, dry tolerant and frost hardy. Both the foliage and flowers have strong, sweet perfume. Strong tolerance of humidity.

A gorgeous choice for cottage gardeners, borders, rock gardens or containers. Beneficial insects will adore this one too. The stems make great cut flowers. You can dry them, or place a few sprigs in your draw to freshen your clothes.

Lavender La Diva ‘Big Night’ has the flowers of Spanish Lavender and the tougher, smaller leaves of English Lavender. Bred for blooms, hardiness, enduring performance, impressive fragrance and quality heat tolerance.

Lavenders are easy care plants with few insect or disease problems. Dead head the plants regularly for constant flowers, OR cut back hard after the first flush of flowers, (around mid to late December) then fertilise for a repeat bloom into autumn.

Lavender grows best in full sun to part shade. In warmer climates it will fair better with some protection from the hot afternoon sun. Plant in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil. Water to establish then only if rainfall is low. Well suited to container growth, where they will require a little more care in watering regularly, potting mix is perfectly drained so can dry out quickly and while the plants are tough, they are likely to suffer if left to dry out regularly. Best to water the soil not the foliage. They will be suited to a 20-25cm pot.
