Glory of the Sun Purpurea
Perfect for a sunny spot, these sweetly scented flowers open in loose umbels of up to seven blooms. The soft purple petals have a flash of purple at their base. Each flower is around 2.5cm across.
The foliage of Glory of the Sun 'Purpurea' is mid green narrow and smells of garlic when crushed. This bulb has been awarded the esteemed RHS Award of Garden Merit, so you know it has value.
Endemic to Chile, the bulbs cope well in dry conditions. In fact, Leucocoryne like it hot! So plant in a sunny position in well drained soil. Water to establish and keep moist during active growth. Keep relatively dry during dormancy.
Fertilise Glory of the Sun monthly with a liquid fertiliser when in growth. Plant in rockeries, pots or the front of garden beds.
