Foxglove Lucas 'Pink'

Flashy pink florets with a nice highlight of cream and a freckle or two on the throat.

Bred by Maarten van der Sar with the ideal of the best container grown Digitalis, The result, after many years hard work, are these gorgeous, compact plants. Plenty of airy, graceful stems float over tidy, low growing, deep green foliage. They are just as nice in gardens and pretty darn good as cut flowers too.

These showy plants are a striking addition to any garden and add a nice element of vertical colour. Foxgloves, or digitalis look best grouped toward the middle or back of a bed, where the tall blossoms will brighten any spot. They are vigorous, long blooming plants.

Foxglove blooms start to open at the bottom of the stalks and gradually move upward providing weeks of fantastic colour.

Plant Foxgloves into well drained soil, water in and keep moist in active growth. This short lived perennial, that will last two or three sensational seasons, even more.

Our tip: to enjoy the best longevity from cut flowers, cut them in the morning, when the florets are one third to half open. Make the cut right at the crown for the longest stem length, and to encourage more to grow.

The individual flowers are about the size and shape of a thimble. Fairies are said to have sewn gloves for foxes from their petals.
