Euphorbia 'Blue Haze'
Evergreen, or ‘everblue’, upright foliage that is almost enveloped by a shroud of chartreuse flowers spring to summer. The leaves are rather slender and graceful, their colouring works as a nice point of contrast. A gorgeous, compact Euphorbia that doesn’t mind poo soils.
Beneficial insects such as bees also love the colourful bracts/blooms too. They are sterile so last an age.
A great choice to use in combination with spring flowering bulbs as along with the visual delight, they will provide the practical benefits of shading them in the summer and will help to hide their fading foliage late spring.
Plant into a well drained, moderately fertile to humus rich soil. They revel in a dry, sunny spot and need at least four to six hours of sun to thrive. They tend to flop with too much shade and they won’t wow you like they could. Water to establish, then only if rainfall is low, they become impressively dry tolerant and for us, even seem to colour better after a dry summer. As a Euphorbia we recommend care when handling and avoiding contact with the sap.
Allow them to self sow to share with friends or hoard them for yourself – you can never have just one!
