Chilean Pitcher Sage
The big, bold stems of Salvia like blooms open over large, aromatic leaves, bringing up to three months of flowers to your garden. The flowers are quite big by Salvia standards, growing up to an impressive 6cm long.
These notable plants will flower for months and endure the heat with ease. It is a good idea to dead head the spent blooms of Chilean Pitcher Sage, to keep them flowering for longer.
The leaves have soft, fuzzy covering and are fragrant when brushed against.
A lovely shrubby plant for a hot spot in the garden. A Hawaiian native, it is suitable for growing in the cool to sub tropical areas of Australia. Frost is not an issue and the birds and bees love them.
Plant Chilean Pitcher Sage in beds, borders or large pots. They grow in moderately fertile to humus rich, well drained soil in full sun to light shade.
