Agastache 'Golden Jubilee'
The striking chartreuse foliage will set the garden aglow. Agastache ‘Golden Jubilee’ is quick to establish and will form an upright clump of glorious, dense, fragrant foliage with spires of lavender blooms (5-10cm) summer to autumn. A wonderful, low maintenance addition to the garden that attracts all manner of birds and friendly insects.
Agastache ‘Golden Jubilee’ was so named to celebrate Queen Elizabeth IIs 50 year reign. It has taken out many international awards including the All American Selections Award in 2003.
This Agastache stands up to the summer heat. When you brush against them the leaves smell of liquorice and mint.
Tolerant of poor soils so long as they are well drained, Agastache are ideal for providing long lasting colour as a dry garden or border plant. Ideally, you should dead head the flowers regularly to encourage more blooms, or give them a mid season chop, add some fertiliser and await a second flush.
Agastache plants prefer a full sun to light shade position. Water to establish, then only if rainfall is low, however, the flowering season will last longer if the plant is kept moist.
Agastache is also commonly known as 'Korean Mint', and the species is native to Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Laos and China. It is an excellent plant for attracting birds, bees and beneficial insects to your garden.
